Back from our latest camping trip

I'm a little too scattered to write a full post here about our trip. But I'll put up a few somewhat random photos to show you what we've enjoyed over the last three days.

See the buildings? That was our camp site. More on this next post, but we couldn't take our car down. We walked down from the road level (where the photo was taken from) and sent our gear down on a lift.

We hung out at the river for a good portion of Tuesday. Fun seeing three boys perched on this rock. They got a close-up view of the kayakers.

There was a flat area next to our tent. Perfect for multiple games of cricket. We taught them French cricket too.
Last night we were treated to a free bonfire, courtesy of a group of Campus Crusade students from Tokyo.
Our nearly-nine-year-old took this photo on a ramble he took this morning. I love it!
I took this one this morning too, about breakfast time. That is our tent on the right.

We had a great time, feel very relaxed (I slept better). Pity we came back to a 35/36 degree Celsius day in Tokyo, but hey, summer will be over soon, and we get to plan an autumn camping trip now!

Looks like a fantastic spot, Wendy. Was it cooler there than in Tokyo? And I love photos of the sun shining through trees! Looking forward to hearing more when you've recovered :)

It was cooler, maybe 30ish during the day. Warm enough to enjoy a paddle in the river. Actually by the time we'd pounded those tent pegs into the ground we were very sweaty! Not so cold at night that we needed our long sleeves and pants, but cool enough to cuddle under a sleeping bag. Just right, really!
